INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Editorial proposal

The FAEEBA Journal: Education and Contemporaneity is a biannual, thematic journal that aims to encourage and promote the exchange of information and results of scientific studies and research in the field of education, in interaction with other social sciences, and in relationships with the regional, national, and international community. It accepts original works that analyze and discuss topics of scientific and cultural interest and are classified into one of the following categories:
• essays: theoretical studies with conceptual analysis;
• research results: text based on research data;
• bibliographic studies: critical and comprehensive analysis of the literature on a defined topic;
• reviews: critical review of a recent publication;
• interviews with renowned scientists and researchers.

Papers must be unpublished; simultaneous submission to another journal is not permitted. The journal accepts articles written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English, and the views expressed are the sole responsibility of their authors. The originals in French and English may be translated into Portuguese, with editing coordinated by the author or someone designated by them.
The themes of future issues and submission deadlines are published on the website https://www.revistas.uneb.br/faeeba, or can be provided by the executive editor upon request. A list of journals with which the Revista da FAEEBA maintains exchanges will also be published in each issue.

Receipt and evaluation of submitted texts

Submitted texts are initially reviewed by the executive editor, who will send confirmation of receipt to the authors. If submitted in accordance with the standards of the FAEEBA Journal: Education and Contemporaneity, they will be forwarded to members of the Editorial Board or ad hoc reviewers of recognized expertise in the issue's topic, without identifying the author(s) to maintain impartiality and neutrality of the review.
Reviews are intended to attest to the scientific quality of the texts for publication purposes and are presented according to the following four categories: a) publishable without restrictions; b) publishable with restrictions; c) publishable with restrictions and suggested modifications, subject to further review; d) unpublishable. The reviews are forwarded to the authors, also without identifying their author(s).
Texts with review b) or c) must be modified according to the suggestions of the advisor or ad hoc reviewer, within a deadline to be determined by the executive editor, in agreement with the author(s). Changes made to the text, with review (b), should be highlighted in red for review by the executive editor. After the text has been grammatically reviewed, references corrected, and the English sections revised, the author(s) will receive the text for final review within seven days, giving them the opportunity to make any minor corrections.

Copyright

Submitting texts to the journal implies authorization for publication. Acceptance of the article for publication implies the transfer of copyright to the journal. Reproduction, in whole or in part (more than 500 words of the text) requires written authorization from the editorial board.
As the FAEEBA Journal: Education and Contemporaneity is a thematic journal, preference will be given to the publication of texts related to the theme of each issue. Other approved texts will only be published in a special section called Studies, subject to space availability in each issue, or in a future issue, when their theme is consistent with the content of the work. If, after one year, a concrete prospect for publication of the text does not emerge, it may be released for publication in another journal, at the request of the author(s).
The main author of an article will receive three copies of the issue in which it was published. The author of a review or abstract of a thesis or dissertation will receive one copy.
