Basic information

The Brazilian Journal of Special Education (Revista Brasileira de Educação Especial) is a quarterly publication maintained by the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Special Education (Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores em Educação Especial - ABPEE), which was created in 1993 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, during the 3rd Education Seminar.

ABPEE’s Headquarters is mobile, accompanies the elected Executive Board and will have as temporary residence the same professional address as the President, during his/her management.

The purpose of the Journal is the dissemination of knowledge in Special Education and related areas with continuous flow. It publishes original papers, mainly of research, but it opens space for essays, review papers and reviews.

The abbreviation of its title is Rev. bras. educ. espec., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographical details.
