Abstract

CAMPOS, Maria Machado Malta. Participation or marginality: socialization patterns in São Paulo and Brasilia families. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1975, n.14, pp.75-86. ISSN 0100-1574.

In this paper it is discussed to what extent it is possible to identify within a population of low socio-economic level a "marginal" group and an "integrated" one. From samples utilized in two other researches on "Cultural Marginalization" (one of them reported in this issue), were selected two polar groups of 20 families each: the "most integrated" and "most marginal" ones. It was then examined to what extent the available data on the socialization patterns adopted by each group confirm or not the explanatory models most commonly found in the especialized literature.
