The aim of this paper is to discuss a specific manifestation of hunger: its effect on brain development. First, we will present some basic concepts in order to introduce the CNS function and the brain-behavior relationship. A synthesis of the most relevant data from biochemical, anatomical and physiological studies will follow, showing the potential aggression malnutrition causes to the brain. The general social basis of the problem will then be retaken.
