The purpose of this paper is to characterize, according to Piaget, exercise, symbol, and rule as forms of games and, in addition, to analyse the importance of each in learning. The importance of games in the school was also analysed through the answers to the following questions: what isa game? Whom or what do you play for? why do you play?
