Abstract

LOPES, José de Sousa Miguel. A formação de professores de ensino primário na república popular de Moçambique. Educ. Rev. [online]. 1991, n.13, pp.29-36. ISSN 0102-4698.

The scope of this paper is ti describe the Education and formation of elementary school teachers (working with the four first years) in Moçambique. To begin with it was necessary to overview the nation’s educational system as a whole. The basis for such an approach was the country’s colonial period and areas which were set free during the liberation movements from 1965 to 1975. Secondly we tried to characterize Education during the fifteen years after the country’s Independence (1976-1980) and later on, to find out how Education was dealt with in the next fifteen years in which the National System of Education was implemented, that is, from 1981 to 1985. Finally we focused our research on primary school teacher’s formation and training programs.
