We argue in favour of the knowledge reconstruction as the main compromise of the university. Two focuses are appointed in the contemporary university: knowledge reconstruction and reconstructive apprenticeship of the students. We live in the knowledge society and that makes the university's mandate still more relevant, since we are able to see in research the central apprenticeship environment. Research is treated as scientifical and educative principle, combining the importance to reconstruct knowledge with the importance to educate new generations.
