This article is based on a research about the implementation of teaching and learning environments, which are richer and inductive of more stimulating and challenging contexts, that allow students to develop their capacity to explore, conjecture, reason and relate logically. Geometry is a subject that enhances the development of such capabilities, and the Dynamic Geometry Environments such as the Compass and Ruler, are seen as effective tools to teach this subject. In this study we intended to elect the potential of this software as a mediator in teaching / learning of geometry process, regarding both the mathematical performance and the students' attitudes. The Basic objective of this investigation was to determine the efficiency of the learning environment for elementary schools, using a blended learning approach, based on the site carmate, whose construction is based on constructivist learning theories, in a collaborative approach that aims at an autonomous development. In the experiment, software and site allowed the students to participate more actively in the learning process, as builders of their own knowledge: they took decisions, conducted investigations, made discoveries, worked cooperatively and interacted with one another. By using the computer, they became more active and enriched their learning, improving their results and their willingness to mathematics.
