Maker Education in schools can drive the transformation of pedagogical work by reversing the model of teaching and learning. According to the perspective of learning by doing the student is empowered when making products using different materials and technologies. The objective of this article is to discuss the contributions of six maker activities to students’ education in a K-12 public school. The methodology was based on the analysis of the statements extracted from reports prepared by the school's teachers and a researcher. As a result, there is evidence that students, and in collaboration with colleagues and their teachers, were able to construct three prototypes of sustainable projects using recyclable materials, reused objects, and digital technologies. The challenges include the articulation between the curriculum and the problem situations that emerged from the creations developed in the maker activities.
