This paper presents an overview about working conditions offered by schools for teachers, published in 2009 in the report TALIS research program (Teaching and Learning International Survey), developed by the OECD. Without pretending to exhaust the comparative analyzes, the purpose is to highlight the results of Brazil and Spain. At first, it emphasizes some considerations about the limits and the scope of this kind of research, as well as its interference in educational policies. Secondly, were selected some aspects of the school environment to identify the magnitude of the problems reported, positioning the two selected countries in relation to the overall results.
