Abstract

GATTI, Bernardete A.  and  GOLDBERG, Maria Amélia Azevêdo. Effects of "the scientists" kits on the development of scientific behaviors in adolescents. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1974, n.10, pp.13-24. ISSN 0100-1574.

The present study was designed to verify the effects of the series of "The Scientists" kits, publised by Abril/FUNBEC, on the development of scientific behavior. The four first kits of the serieswere used in the study: Newton, Lavoisier, Einstein and Volta and the kit Galileu was modified for evaluation purposes. The experimental and control groups consisted of 48 subjects (24 subjects in each group), randomly selected among students of the 8th grade of three schools in São Paulo. The results indicated that the kits had a high influence on motivation and that the Experimental Group obtained a significant gain in terms of knowledge and intellectual abilities, as well as better results in problem solving.
