This article refers to the influence of the Catholic Church on the family. The author attempts to show how the action of the church, as far as the family is concerned, changed during the last years, from an ideological agency of domination to a political organization turned to the development of base communities. Although changes were relevantthe church is always concerned in maintaining the family under control.
