Aiming to clear the mediations between the "high school" professional training proposal and the objective reality, we decided to try to identify the living conditions, the expectations and future plans of the students engaged in the professional training courses. Our data were obtained from 4 State Technical School and from 112 students engage din several professional training courses. Ours study's focus is on the relations between school and work (job) and on questions about the role the professional high school plays regarding College preparation or work training.
