This study was to develop an operatory diagnostic of children from an unfavoured socio-economic district, located in the city council of Feira de Santana (Bahia). Having used a piagetian focus, the author raised possible relations on the one hand between the fact whether the children attended school or not and on the other hand the fact whetherthey were doing paid duties or not, as well as the stage of concrete operatory development based on some invariants.
