The various attempts to introduce African Studies - either as a subject or as a topic subject - in the school curriculum were the focus of the papers and debates grouped under this theme. The fundaments of the proposals already introduced were analysed. The advances and difficulties feltin the process were reported. Through the discussion about the production, selection and transmission of knowledge in the school system, we can notice a broadening of the debate on the curriculum that might fit a non-racist school.
