Abstract

COSTA, Albertina de Oliveira. The access of women to political citizenship in Brazil: unsettled issues. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1991, n.77, pp.47-52. ISSN 0100-1574.

In the turning of the 90's, women have become just over half of Brazilian voters. They had long insisted in voting through History. Mobilized, they have emerged into the public arena and were successful. However, both women's exclusion from political citizenship and the feminine vote are unimportant matters to scientific pursuit. This puzzling pendency between researchers and suffragettes is examined here through a review of recent literature.

Keywords : Voto feminino; Cidadania; Política; Movimento de mulheres.
