On this paper I discuss aspects of empirical researches and theories concerning issues of dependence, independence, authonomy and gender identity. This review of the knowledge produced by psychology allows some arguments which lead us into presuppositions, implications, obliquities and gaps concerning the understanding of men's and women's subjectivity.
