Abstract

BRUSCHINI, Maria Cristina  and  RIDENTI, Sandra. Family, house and work. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1994, n.88, pp.30-36. ISSN 0100-1574.

The article tries to show how frail are the boundaries among concepts such as family, house and work. It analyzes statements given by lower-class self-employed female workers - usually married and with children - who carry out economic activities at their residence, trying to face the struggle for life, together with the other members of the family. It proves that the residence can be not only a home but also a workshop where economic activities are performed to supply additional income, sometimes essential to support the family.

Keywords : Trabalho Domiciliar; Trabalho da Mulher; Família.
