Abstract

SOUZA, Maria Cecília C. de. Separation between foreign immigrant in São Paulo of the first republic. Cad. Pesqui. [online]. 1994, n.91, pp.76-85. ISSN 0100-1574.

This paper is based on primary source research built from civil court divorce records in São Paulo during 1890-1930. A significant group of these records covers the processes that involve immigrant couples and their marital crises. Although they are personal problems, they are tied to social issues more amply related to immigration and the specific forms this problem took in São Paulo.
