Abstract

The paper deals with the social and non-social domains of cognition under the perspective of Genetic Psychology. It reports a research about the preponderant form of reasoning (logico-mathematical versus social-valuing) and the existence of genetic process in some ideological representations among children and adolescents facing a specially elaborated instrument which had Piagetian proofs as model. The result lead to the conclusion that the activation of social-valuing meanings could have interfered in the LM reasoning and that, perhaps, there isn´t a properly "social reasoning", but social-based criterions to know and represent the world
