This article aims to demonstrate the construction of an explanatory category of teaching called “content explication”. It is based on Teacher's school students’ representations about the pedagogical practices of their teachers, whose formulation assumed the function of “basic structuring element for effective teaching work”. The approach is qualitative and the procedures are classroom observation and semi-structured interviews.
