This article focuses on recently developed researches on the history of teaching History under several perspectives and problems. Starting from the diversity of approaches, our objective is to present the researches on the history of the school subject in its educational trajectory. Initially, we place the constitution of the history of teaching in the field of researches on teaching history, trying to identify the characteristics of this research line and the moments when the study of the discipline under a historical perspective was privileged. Then we present two aspects of the researches started in the 1980s, highlighting their theoretical and methodological foundations, placing them on the borderline between historiographical and educational studies.
