VALDEZ, Diane; MOZZER, Geisa Nunes de Souza  and  LAGO, Marilúcia Pereira do. Universal, unique and excluded: the construction of poor adolescent place in Brazilian society. Rev. Inter Ação [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.2, pp.213-232. ISSN 0101-7136.  https://doi.org/10.5216/ia.v40i2.37444.

The text proposes a reflection about the place collectively constructed and destined for poor adolescents in the Brazilian society through the history of policies and practices of education for boys and girls of Brazil from the Portuguese colonization to the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, and takes up the concept of social situation of development in order to realize that the subject is not separated from his history, his development is interlaced with his living conditions, his social relations and his symbolic universe. Product and history producer, the man carries the traces of his place in society and speaks from this place. Therefore, we can not pretend to understand adolescent behavior in conflict with the law or want to educate him, without understanding that, historically, he speaks of a social place of exclusion and violence.
