Abstract

This paper discusses theoretical issues related to learning as a complex process. By misunderstanding the multi-sided nature of this process, theoreticians and educators alike have frequently reduced the totality of learning process to one of its aspects, creating therefore an one-sided vision of a complex human activity. Some ideas of Rubinstein, Vigotsky and Wallon are presented to question this simplified vision of learning since they reveal aspects of knowledge construction which indicate it’s complexly as function of the social, cultural and historical development of man. This approach understands formal knowledge acquisition as result of specific actives which should constitute the object of pedagogical practice in school.
