This study analyzes articles published in 21 magazines in 21 magazines in the education área, between 1990 and 2003, which deals with teacher training at the approach towards racial and cultural differences. The aim was to validate the current discussions concerning this subject, considering that potential teachers, while teaching will face, directly or indirectly, other codes, other ways to see the world or issues regarding race. In this way, this examination presents the theoretical perspectives which have subsidized the studies on the theme and the factors/ contexts that have contributed towards towards a shift in the way of thinking about teacher training. Emphasis is also put on the characteristics, advancements and problems which are present in some teacher training experiments that contemplate these topics. Finally, it brings together authors suggestion on guiding the teacher - making him/ her sensitive to questions and conflicts concerning racial and cultural differences.
