Abstract

PERES, Eliane. The "Hora da Leitura Pedagógica" (Time for Pedagogical Reading) as a promotional strategy of pedagogical renovation of Rio Grande do Sul. Educ. Rev. [online]. 2005, n.41, pp.135-151. ISSN 0102-4698.

In this study it is analyzed the hora da leitura pedagógica, implemented in Rio Grande do Sul by the Secretariat of Education in 1937. It is claimed that this reading practice, extended to all head teachers and primary teachers of the urban and rural zone, is aimed at promoting the ideas of the renovated school. The analysis is mainly based on the book ‘livro de atas da hora da leitura pedagógica’ (327 minutes between the years 1939 and 1968) from a primary school in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in addition to notes and handouts made available by CPOE and interviews with former primary teachers.
