MELO, Alessandro de and RIBEIRO, Débora. Construction of know ledge and eurocentrism in Universities: points for a Pluriversity. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2019, vol.57, n.51, e-15551. Epub Sep 13, 2019. ISSN 1981-1802. https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2019v57n51id15551.
IThe objective of this article is to analyze the Western university within the modern/colonial power pattern, from Latin American Decolonial Thinking and authors such as Boaventura de Sousa Santos, pointing out other epistemological possibilities that consider different types of knowledge with equity and dialogue. Other possibilities are already being built, such as the Pluriversidad Amawtay Wasi in Ecuador, which emerges from Ecuadorian indigenous movement. The knowledge that emerges and constitutes this pluriversity differs considerably from the ideals of Western knowledge of objectivity, neutrality, separation of mind and body, reason and emotion, produced by a select body of specialists. The radical nature of this indigenous enterprise is also expressed in the recognition of its proposal as anti-Eurocentric and decolonizing of knowledge. They act in this direction by assuming critical interculturality and the dialogue of knowledge as basic assumptions in the construction of knowledge and for transformation of the whole society
