Abstract

The article presents an evaluation report of a Teaching Certification program in Rural Education, based on a specific training model. It uses the training triangle as a reading grid and assessment guide. To illustrate its potential for evaluation processes, it was applied to a Teaching Certification program in Rural Education, taught in 5 different cities in Pará, Brazil. The data comes from a questionnaire distributed to 182 undergraduate students and a set of interviews with 19 of them. The analysis showed an emphasis on the cognitive and socio-professional dimensions, and neglect of the psychological aspects, of the training. Even the initiatives that explicitly articulated epistemic and professional elements were criticized by the students for deviating from the local reality.
