Until now computing is a science considered to be demanding and difficult to understand, and consequently men mostly dominate it. Moreover, one can observe that the admission of social minorities, like women, is declining. This article describes a study conducted to explore gender issues in an undergraduate program in computer science area. The survey mapped the path of the students girls to investigate their motivations, difficulties, facilities and expectations regarding the program. Interviews were conducted and then a qualitative analysis indicated the need for action to discuss gender issues and encourage women's participation in computing.
