Abstract: Celia Lapalma, was born in 1867 in Salto (San Luis Province, Argentina) and died in 1937 in Buenos Aires. She was a catholic militant recognized for her commitment with the female workers’ situation and the helpless childhood. Besides participating in several charity associations, she worked as an inspector in official organisms, she was a teacher, writer, speaker, wife, and mother, too. This work analyses her work as treasurer of the “Comisión Central de Señoras Cooperadoras Salesianas,” aiming to identify the articulations she made in her epistolary speeches between her roles in the congregation, work, and family. The analysis of her gender representations and the way in which they evolved with time will allow us to understand the experiences of the elite women as benefactresses in the sphere of associative sociability
