Abstract

KIPNIS, Bernardo  and  BAREICHA, Paulo Sérgio. Avaliação de cursos e gestão do ensino de graduação em universidades: um estudo de tendência. Ensaio: aval. pol. públ. educ. [online]. 1995, vol.03, n.09, pp.365-376. ISSN 0104-4036.

This study discusses the institutional evaluation of universities taking into account the assessment of undergraduate courses. It considers the Institutional Evaluation Program for the Brazilian Universities (PAIUB) basic document as a conceptual reference and points to two methodologies as complementary ways of getting information, helpful to the decision making process. The first, based on questionnaire, represents actors' perceptions about the process. The other, based on quantitative data, is helpful in the creation of university indicators. It argues that tendency studies of variables or indicators, among other possibilities, are relevant to a better knowledge of undergraduate courses. At the and, it proposes an "agenda" for other studies.
