SAENGER, Emília Carneiro  and  TEIXEIRA, Maria do Rocio Fontoura. The internationalization through the Special Visiting Researcher Fellowship Science without Borders Program of CNPq. Ensaio: aval. pol. públ. educ. [online]. 2018, vol.26, n.100, pp.849-868. ISSN 1809-4465.  https://doi.org/10.1590/S0104-40362018002601103.

This article presents and analyzes the Special Visiting Researcher grant (PVE), a fellowship offered by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). It is a program to attract scientists and promote post-graduation within the Science without Borders program (CsF), the broader scientific exchange program ever promoted in Brazil. Based on a theoretical framework of education internationalization, it tabulates data of PVE scholarships awarded by CNPq, classified according to their characteristics, such as country of origin, institution of origin and researchers’ nationalities. The data indicates a concentration of projects in the Southeast region of Brazil, that nearly half of the projects were carried out by only ten institutions, and that the PVE grant contributed to the internationalization of Brazilian science.
