PRATA-LINHARES, Martha Maria; BOTELHO, Daniele Campos  and  TRISTAO, Isadora Maria Oliveira. NEITHER NOTHING NOR EVERYTHING: AT THE INTERNATIONALIZATIONS’ CROSSROADS. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2024, vol.33, n.73, pp.108-123.  Epub May 01, 2024. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2023.v33.n73.p108-123.

This paper approaches internationalization policies in teacher education in Brazil, analyzing international cooperation programs. It discusses the understandings adopted in educational internationalization in the Brazilian context, highlighting the demand for balancing economic and sociocultural perspectives. This way, it questions the influence of international organizations such as the World Bank. It indicates the lack of selective processes for internationalization among South American countries, unlike Mercosur’s regional initiatives. In the final considerations, we suggest themes for future debates and emphasize the importance of strengthening relations between south-south and north-south countries, highlighting education for global citizenship and respect for diversity and multiculturalism.

Keywords : Teacher education; Educational policy; International cooperation education; Internationalization of education.
