Abstract

OVIEDO, Lourdes Evangelina Zilberberg; RODRIGUES, Diego Palmeira  and  ALMEIDA, Maria de Lourdes Pinto de. GUIDELINES FOR INTERNATIONALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN CONTEMPORARY TIMES. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2024, vol.33, n.73, pp.151-169.  Epub May 01, 2024. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2023.v33.n73.p151-169.

This paper presents the results of a qualitative exploratory study based on a bibliographical and documentary research, whose objective was to analyze the guidelines for the internationalization of higher education in the declaration of the Regional Conference on Higher Education 2018 and in the documents of the World Higher Education Conference 2022. The methodology used was historicalcritical, based on Saviani’s theory, which aims to understand educational questions within a specific historical context, using the concept of totality. Among the main findings of the research, it was observed that a dichotomy exists between a humanist and solidarity-based conception of internationalization and an economic vision, which finds its basis in the adoption of market rules and in the creation of a cohesive global ecosystem grounded in the principles of sustainable development of United Nations’2030 Agenda.
