Institutional evaluation is a strategic issue both in the organizational context and in the context of higher education in Brazil. It is an important administrative tool because the information produced in the development of the evaluation process guides the decision-making process, allowing for institutional development with quality. The present article presents, in synthesis, the experience of the Nilton Lins University in the implantation of its evaluation system, specifically with regard to the process of operationalization of the Commission of Institutional Evaluation.
