Abstract

TASSONI, Elvira Cristina Martins. As experiências de sucesso na aprendizagem e suas relações com a permanência na escolar. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.01, pp.57-64. ISSN 1519-3993.

This article aims to demonstrate that successes achieved in learning situations in the classroom can contribute to the students staying on at school. Its reference is axis III of the National Conference on Education document which addresses the issue of democratization of access, retention and academic success. The article deals with the relationship and interdependence between these three aspects, furthering the discussion on success in school. It analyzes it from the perspective of the recognition of the school and the quality of education, enabling effective learning in order to facilitate the inclusion of the student in the education process. It presents some survey data showing that cases of academic success further the approximation of the student with the object, knowledge. The perception of students that they are learning, increases involvement and produces motivation. Access, retention and educational achievement are crucial for the realization of social rights, which are fulfilled not only by the fact of being in school, but also by appropriating socially valued knowledge, in order to understand and to be able to get on in the world. In this process, academic success goes beyond good student performance, it is about guaranteeing the right to education.
