TOGNETTA, Luciene Regina Paulino; SOUZA, Raul Alves de  and  LAPA, Luciana Zobel. The implementation of help teams as a strategy for the overcoming of school bullying. Educ. Puc. [online]. 2019, vol.24, n.3, pp.397-410. ISSN 2318-0870.  https://doi.org/10.24220/2318-0870v24n3a4506.

The coexistence problems in school, especially a type of violence characterized as bullying have been calledattention of the current investigations not for the fact of its increase but for the urgency that the coexistencecould to be a value present in educational institutions. The international literature has shown the importanceof effective participation of the students in solving the problems of coexistence experienced, but little is knownabout these aspects. Thus, this article presents an exploratory research whose objective is to investigate thepossible differences in the frequency of bullying among elementary school students in schools where peersupport systems were implemented in students’ perceptions regarding before and after their implementation. The sample is formed by 270 teenagers from the sixth to the ninth grade of a school in the countryside ofSão Paulo in which a Training Project for Ethical Coexistence was organized with teachers, managementstaff and students. The instrument had 20 situations in which students did not need to identify themselves, but would need to point out whether or not they were members of the Help Teams or not. The data foundcorroborate the students need to feel welcomed, protected and strengthened in schools, pointing out thatthe presence of Help Teams in school can promote the improvement of coexistence and thus, reduce thepossibilities of intimidation.
