In this text we work with, according to psychoanalysis, the aspects of presence-distance and the centralization in the student, inherent to the process of distance learning education. The interest is to discuss the insertion of distance learning education in a wide context, which makes it a distinguished alternative to education, in accordance with the current social symptom, legible through Lacan’s formula of the Capitalist Discourse. Underlining from this formula what it permits to read about the relation of primacy of the object over the subject, characteristic of nowadays, we aim to understand how the indispensable support that distance learning education has on technological objects - capable of giving it the dignity it has reached these days - reflects its consonance with the social symptom.
