This article aimed to understand the students of Pedagogy course conceptions regarding its course. Taken as reference to the Theory of Social Representations, created by S. Moscovici. The participants of this study, qualitative, were Pedagogy students of the Federal University of Pernambuco, enrolled at morning, afternoon and night, totaling 103 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analysed using the technique of Content Analysis proposed by Bardin. The students consider the pedagogy course provides a solid theoretical basis, being reflective and humanizing, reasons why it is considered one broad. But without the specific training of the pedagogue is forgotten, because the training for teachers and the performance in the school environment is a prominent feature of the students. However, these also highlight that the course, sometimes it is too theoretical and that the practice ends up in the background, plus they have a conception of what the course is socially devalued and discredited.
