This article is the result of a research that aimed to analyze how cultural diversity is included in the curriculum of the Municipal Educational system of Guanambi/BA. This is a qualitative study, which had as data source the Curriculum Proposal of the system and semi-structured interviews, which were carried out with five teachers. The data were produced through the technique of content analysis in the thematic modality, whose procedures showed that the conception of cultural diversity in the analyzed curriculum is still linked to a liberal view, with a prevalence of standardizing mechanisms in teaching, a condition which reveals that the curriculum is still articulated according to the universalization of knowledge and which highlights the emergence of critical intercultural education.
