Abstract

This article discusses the dilemmas-contradictions present in organizational and pedagogical processes involving the formation of the university professor and is based on the studies of Zabalza (2004). According to this author, the formative programs of these professors are fragmented. For this reason one should search for a dialectical balance between the poles that guide the organization of such formative programs. Some considerations are made concerning these dilemmas-contradictions in association with those also faced by universities today, due to demands made by new organizational models. The importance of overcoming such manifest problems on an institutional level is also discussed. The information on which this article is based comes from the analysis of results obtained in a study of multiple cases presented by two universities located in the state of the Ceará: Universidade Estadual do Ceará (Uece) e Universidade de Fortaleza (Unifor). The results of the discussion point out a dialectical disequilibrium between the organizational poles of the pedagogical formation of the university professor.
