Abstract

OLIVEIRA JUNIOR, José Miranda; MOREIRA, Nubia Regina  and  CRUSOE, Nilma Margarida de Castro. School and sexual diversity: a narrative on gender identity. Linhas Críticas [online]. 2017, vol.23, n.52, pp.642-663. ISSN 1981-0431.  https://doi.org/10.2017/lcv23n52.642.

By questioning how school has dealt with sexual diversity in its pedagogical practices, the aim of this work is to discuss questions that concern the gender and diversity themes in the education environment, as well as the effectiveness of such contents in the pedagogical practice. One used the methodology of the qualitative research situated in the comprehensive sociology, so as to understand the intricacies that such themes still arouse in the pedagogical practice from a transexual student’s narratives. Besides, this study also aims to understand the living and interaction in the school environment of students who go beyond the so called “framing” of mandatory normativity by means of the understanding and handling of devices found in Schutz’s Phenomenology.
