Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Nathália Dias Pereira Alves  and  LORETO, Maria das Dores Saraiva de. Inclusion policy of disabled people at Federal University of Viçosa/MG: speech and its practice in the view of their enabling agents. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2021, vol.15, e77410.  Epub Sep 03, 2021. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v15i0.77410.

This article sought to characterize the quota policies for disabled of the Federal University of Viçosa, considering what advocates the legal speech and its lived practice by the enabling agents. In the methodological path of the research, it was made a bibliographical and documental research, combined with interviews with representatives of strategical sectors of the institution, seeking to answer questions related to the accession process and the policy implementation. The results showed that the institution had success in the accession to the policy, even in face of financial restrictions and limitation of qualified human resources to act in their working. We concluded that this policy, of top-down nature, despite their challenges, it is of vital importance for the institution and for the society, once that aims to include people that historically were excluded from several social spaces.
