This research aimed to analyze students' perception of their process of inclusion University education at a university in Rio Grande do Sul. Through a qualitative, descriptive and interpretive methodology, semi-structured interviews were carried out with a sample of 13 students with disabilities. The questions were grouped into three axes that include admission to university, permanence and professional opportunities. The data collected suggest that 1) Respondents are generally ashamed or have difficulty accepting their disability and therefore did not enjoy the legal access rights they have; 2) Speeches and attitudes of professors and colleagues, as well as health problems and pain related to disability are challenges for permanence in higher education; 3) Most of the interviewees were employed, but none had a function compatible with their course.
