Abstract

CAMPOS, Rosânia; LIMA, Iana Gomes de  and  RIBEIRO, Camila Schlickmann. “I have no interest in the subject and I disagree with such an ideological conception”: the anti-gender moral crusade and the (neo)conservative echoes in gender debates in the field of education. J. Pol. Educ-s [online]. 2023, vol.17, e89496.  Epub Oct 11, 2023. ISSN 1981-1969.  https://doi.org/10.5380/jpe.v17i0.x89496.

This article aims to analyze the advance of (neo)conservative waves in Latin America and its repercussions in the field of education in Brazil. Initially, the US influence was briefly traced in countries with peripheral capitalism and its connection with the growth of the religious agenda. Then, some of the main movements that defend the maintenance of the traditional family model and their legal consequences were analyzed. Finally, some impacts of the anti-gender offensive on the field of education were reflected on. The work has a qualitative nature, with the documentary analysis of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), National Education Plan (PNE), Law Projects (PL) and Argument of Non-compliance with Fundamental Precept (ADPF) n.º 457. It is known that the (neo)conservative waves have spread in Latin America along with the strong religious investment in the dissemination of their moral values and, in Brazil, this movement has acted in the legislative, executive and judiciary powers and tensioned the field of education.
