This article analyzes the effects resulting from the implementation of Emergency Remote Learning on the development of teaching work in public school networks in Ceará, in a managerial educational context of the implementation of the New Public Management and in the Covid-19 pandemic scenario. It adopts an epistemology guided by Historical-Dialectical Materialism and on a qualitative approach. The methodology used was bibliographic and documental research. As a result, it was evident that the Emergency Remote Teaching regulated and implemented in the state of Ceará has contributed to the restructuring of the teaching work in Ceará's public Basic Education that has been going on for the last decades, as well as to the deepening of the intensification process of the teaching work due to the challenges imposed by the pandemic context.
