Abstract

MARCONDES, Gláucia Siqueira  and  FERRARI, Anderson. Gypsy wedding: tradition or crime? Educational processes for the constitution of Roma women. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.67, pp.1837-1861.  Epub Dec 31, 2020. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.20.067.ds15.

This article is an excerpt from a Master's in Education research, which focused on the constitution of women based on relations of knowledge, power and, above all, relations with the other. Through the post-structuralist perspective and gender studies, the ways in which three Roma women are constituted as women of this culture were questioned. These relationships speak of educational and pedagogical processes. For this article, we selected a point that came up in the meetings with these three women: the gypsy wedding. The investigation, which is also inspired by Foucauldian studies, proposes to think how the apparatus of truth and power over childhood and pedophilia, interfere in the way we understand gypsy marriage. We highlight the legislation, in particular Law 13,811 / 19, and the Roma community as important pedagogical devices in education and in the constitution of subjects regarding these issues.

Keywords : Childhood; Pedophilia; Speech; Gypsy marriage.
