SILVA, Katia Franklin da; KONELL, Vania  and  REIS, Gesiele. Aesthetic Education in the Exhibition Space of the Museum of History and Science - Lisbon, Portugal. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.69, pp.617-649.  Epub June 11, 2021. ISSN 1981-416X.  https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.21.069.ds05.

Today's museums, characterized by the multiple ways of promoting scientific culture, promote research, knowledge, interaction, awareness and, therefore, are non-formal spaces of education that enable discovery, creation, and experience through their exhibition spaces. To elucidate this study, the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC), located in Lisbon, Portugal, was chosen to analyze the exhibition space in the area of zoology, named “Great carnivores of Europe - Kings of Europe Wild” in a relationship with aesthetic education. From the visit to MUHNAC, realized in 2018, twenty-one photographs were selected, anchored in the image analysis proposed by Barthes, which are related to the speeches of the curator who was responsible for the exhibition and who accompanied the visit. This is a qualitative research, and his studies were based on Schiller (2011), about the concept of aesthetic education, on Bachelard (2005), on the theory of space, on Larrosa (2016), when conceptualizing experience and on other references that dialogue with this research proposal. Among the results obtained in this study, we highlight the potential of the exhibition space of the history and science museums as a unification (enjoyment) of the sensitive and the intelligible as a contribution to the development of aesthetic education. It was noticed how much the organization of the space, whether it is constituted materially and immaterially, objectively and subjectively, interferes in the sensitive perception and reflection of the public as a possibility of human formation.
