Professor Marli Eliza Dalmazo Afonso de André has been dedicated for more than 40 years to studying Brazilian education, mainly the formation of teachers, contributing to the constitution of this area in an autonomous field of studies, leaving records in scientific articles, book chapters, interviews and lectures of extreme relevance. Given his vast contribution, this article aimed to elucidate Marli André’s proposals for the training of teachers in Brazil. From a qualitative and bibliographical approach, this research analyzed the author’s only writings published between 2009 and 2023, involving 12 scientific articles and 13 book chapters. Through the floating reading of the selected works, the following propositions emerged: training teachers as scientific fields; training of the research teacher; training of the training teacher; support for the novice teacher; and the consolidation of public teacher training policies. We conclude that their writings are aligned with the topics discussed internationally in the field of teacher training and illuminate discussions that deserve continuity and greater mobilization of teachers and researchers, in order to eternalize and realize the useful contributions of this important researcher to teacher training in Brazil.
