The vision of museums as a space that together with schools provide education, has guided the discussions and the development of theories and practices within Museology and Education. It highlights the role of the historian and the museologist in the management of these memories, identities and histories, for the understanding of the museum as a space for discussion and provocation of other readings that pass through the forms of cultural resistance. The 21st century has been marked by rapid access to information driven by the development of the internet, which allows not only users, but also information generators, such as museums, to take a new look at authors and theories that raise practices within and outside museums. The construction of the discussion of the article was based on qualitative research, as a way of understanding the researched universe and, by method, it was based on the descriptive-analytical, for the interpretation of the sources raised and the phenomena discussed. We conclude that greater openness is needed in discussions that take into account local and regional particularities in the construction of theoretical frameworks and their practical application in museums and forms of collaboration with educational spaces, such as schools and their teachers.
